Challenge Overview

"Easy to use"

Current systems require multiple log ins and passwords—slowing the search process.

"Single view"

Current solutions merely aggragate the findings in several panes on the screen leaving the user to search each window for the information needed.

Complexity

Information is located across disparate content sources, often utilizing different platforms and authorization   mechanisms.

Plug & Play Myth

Some providers claim their solution is "plug & play"—our experience has found  that to be a myth. The reality is that security and connectors may need to be integrated and updated to the various content sources.

Challenges

Current information access systems are typically complex, ineffective, expensive and not secure

Current methodologies on achieving a cohesive "single view" for Unified Information Access can be complicated.  To truly have unified access you need to be able to connect to all of your corporation's disparate data sources regardless of location, applications, or technology platform. Solutions vary from utilizing search engines within the various content sources to attempting to incorporate an enterprise-wide solution.

Many profess to offer a simple "plug and play" solution. However, in our experience it is rarely that easy.  The output is not user friendly and can cause frustration especially when results are not relevant.

Another significant challenge is security.  Many current "solutions" require multiple logins and unique passwords to the various data sources—hardly a true secure "single view."

NewLane's solutions work with these different platforms and user applications to provide a secure, single view that delivers fast and relevant results for the end user.
